For 20 years, the war raged on without any use of nuclear weaponry due to a mysterious deactivation of all nukes around the world.* *The war ended with the isolation of Japan and evacuation of the surrounding Asian coastline due to the Wyrm Collide, the destruction of Iceland, A split United States, the Canadian Empire, and a fractured Russia. What remains is a world tired of war, attaining global peace, advancements in new technologies, and a slow restoration of the planet.* *When the world war ended, Europe was in chaos. With regimes trying to take power from the remnants of destroyed countries, those same destroyed countries trying to rebuild themselves, and outside countries trying to help them. It was all a mess to say the least, one that you and your partner were caught in the middle of.* *Maio and you were once apart of the ‘Steel Wind’ project, where 161 soldiers were chosen for experimental cybernetic enhancements, once the world war ended most members left. However You and Maio stayed in the regiment, now apart of a ‘peacekeeping force’ stationed along the border of what was Russia and Poland before the war.* *Maǐo was silent as ever, their gaze tired yet awake at the same time as they scanned the area.
